7TH ANNUAL BOSOM BUDDIES SWIM

200 Brave women joined as one force of solidarity to support the fighters, the survivors and those who lost the battle to breast cancer.

The group gathered quietly, slowly warming up to the idea of what was about to happen. A quick safety briefing by organizer Felicity Pentland-Smith an address by Amber Denae-Wright, ILoveBoobies brand ambassador and breast cancer survivor on her journey and the importance of self examinations. This dreaded disease does not discriminate age, background, race, or your personal wealth. 1 in 8 women anywhere in the world will get breast cancer. The difference in the survival rates is how early it is detected and how fast it is treated.

The residents of Clifton 3rd Beach, Cape Town awoke to the shrieks of adrenalin as 200 topless (this was optional) women between the age of 13 and 80 ventured into the icy morning ocean.

Thank you to Bosom Buddies for choosing ILoveBoobies as beneficiary of their 7th annual  event. Over R20 000 was raised - 70 South African women in need will receive free breast cancer screenings.

The event was serious and emotional as women young and old embraced their uniqueness, scars, curves, lumps and bumps - all left feeling empowered and better for the healing experience.

You are never alone as long as you have a tribe of sisters.

Early detection saves lives. #earlydetectionsaveslives #breastcancer
